Bellshill is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It’s situated ten miles south east of Glasgow city centre and 37 miles west of Edinburgh, in addition to being in close proximity to other towns such as Motherwell, Hamilton and Coatbridge. Since 1996, it has been a part of the Greater Glasgow metropolitan area. With a population of 20705, a report by the Halifax Building Society revealed that in the initial quarter of 2005, the town was the UK’s property hot spot, witnessing a rise in house prices by 46 per cent. This resulted in the average property price as being £105,698. It is believed that the town dates back to the 17th century, which initially contained a line of quarry workers’ houses owned by Mr. Bell, the owner of a stone quarry towards the south of the town. The improvement of Bellshill, however, largely occurred just after the closure of the quarry at the start of the Nineteenth century. Developments have continued throughout the 20th century. Recently, the Streetscape Project, a programme aiming to attain the town’s regeneration and modernisation of the town centre, took place between 2007 and 2010, which made a one way system around the main street and made the area much more pedestrian-friendly. Since the middle of the 1980s, the town has been recognised specifically for producing respected and influential popular music, with bands like the Soup Dragons, BMX Bandits and Teenage Fanclub emerging from the town. A Channel 4 television series, ‘Sounds of the Suburbs’, celebrated the music of the area, known as the ‘Bellshill Sound’ or the ‘Bellshill Beat’. For all of your house upgrades, be sure that you use trustworthy professionals in Bellshill to make sure that you get the most effective quality.
